Regional STAR Events
Ten members of the Ste. Genevieve High School chapter of Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America competed in the regional competition in Cape Girardeau on January 27th-28th, 2019. Participants who completed on online event were able to attend and assist judges during presentations. To see the results click here.

Regional Officer ScreeningOn January 9, 2019, one chapter officer from the Ste. Genevieve High School FCCLA Chapter attended Regional Officer Screening to run for regional office for the 2019-2020 school year at Zelma High School. Emily Abt ended her term at the 2018-2019 Region 6 Historian. Lana Kemper attended as our chapter's voting delegates. Congratulations to Drew Newman who was elected as the Region 6 Historian for the 2019-2020 school year.

STAR Event Work DayIn December and January members were able to use club day meetings as work days . Many competitors were coming in during Dragon FIRE, also known as study hall, to work on their projects and get assistance from Dr. Eatherton. Students also had the option to come after school some days. January was spent making last minute preparation for Regionals.

Thanksgiving Food Drive
The Ste. Genevieve High School FCCLA Chapter held their annual Thanksgiving Food Drive November 2nd-November 8th, 2018. The food drive was held during 5th hour classes in the high school. Students were asked to bring in either food or money donations to contribute to their class's kit(s). The winning class, Mr. Schweiss's fifth hour, was awarded a pizza party. In total, 57 Thanksgiving Food Kits were collected
Region 6 ConferenceTwelve members from the Ste. Geneiveieve High School FCCLA Chapter attended the Region 6 FCCLA Conference at Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau, MO on October 16th. Members listened to a keynote speaker, got state and regional updates, and enjoyed a lunch afterwards. There was a Miracle Minute held for the Region 6 Community Service Project, pageants for people with special needs in Ste. Genevieve and Scott City. President, Grace Thomure represented our chapter on stage during regional roll call. As a Regional Officer, Emily Abt helped plan the conference.

Fall Leadership ConferenceFour members from the Ste. Genevieve High School FCCLA Chapter attended the Fall Leadership Conference at Tan-Tar-A Resort in Osage Beach, MO on October 21st-22nd. The theme for the conference was, "Launch Into Leadership". At this conference attendees learned about how to make their chapter more successful, leadership techniques, and how to implement FCCLA's National Programs into chapter meetings. Attendees were able to participate in a glow run while at the conference.

Region 6 WorkshopSix members from the Ste. Genevieve High School FCCLA Chapter attended the Region 6 Workshop at North County High School. At the workshop members learned more about FCCLA from the Region 6 officers. The stations go over national programs, running for office, and more. Members listened to a keynote about distracted driving and it's impact. As a Regional Officer Emily Abt led a station.

STAR Events
Lana Kemper sponsored a coin drive at Ste Genevieve Elementary. The coin drive took place in December and the proceeds benefited Triston Walls, a first grader at SGHS, with his medical bills. Tristan was born with a birth defect and has had to have several surgeries. The class that brought in the most donations was promised a donut party. Mrs. Mercer’s class (pictured) won, bringing in a total of $197. The grand total collected was $239.57. Special thanks to all who donated to help Triston and make this project a huge success.
